Breakfast in my life has always involved eggs most days of the week. Last winter though, I got into the habit of making a nice, steaming hot bowl of oatmeal and topping it off with blueberries or shredded apples. Adding in some cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, any seeds/nuts, and some maple syrup or honey is a little touch that makes it extra tasty and special. Voila! You've got yourself a healthy, (somewhat) quick, and sustainable breakfast. I always let the oats or hot cereal simmer on the stove while preparing coffee. It's just my morning rhythm, I guess.
